We live South Alabama just north of Pensacola, Florida. We just wanted to share our family and feist with you.
As a young boy, I was raised around dogs with the ability to tree varmints. My first experience was one evening at my Uncle Jack’s house. His dogs were away from the house and were barking up a storm when I asked, “What are your dogs barking at?” Uncle Jack’s reply was “Aw, they got an old cat treed”. Well as it has been said “the rest is history.” Later, Uncle Jack carried me coon hunting and I’ve been hooked for life now with these treeing dogs.
Not long ago my wife, Melanie, and I were looking for a squirrel dog. Not just any dog. This dog had to fit our lifestyle and home. She likes the smaller frame dogs so I knew that it was going to be a feist. She contacted a fellow by the name of Mack Ledbetter, who owns Lost Creek Kennel in Ranburne AL. He e-mailed pictures to us of a puppy and once Melanie saw those pictures I knew that I was going to have to find out where Ranburne was and how to get there. This is where our squirrel dogs began and hope you enjoy looking at them.
We are new to building web sites so, we will be "Under Construction" for a long time. Please bear with us during our rather steep learning curve of site building. We'll eventually get there (we hope.)
We do not raise feist to sell, only raise some for our hunting pleasure. If you are looking to get a pup that has been bred right, please give Mack Ledbetter or Delane Widener a call. These guys are raising feist that are gettin’ it done.
